How to Add IPTV to IPTVX: Connecting Xtream Codes API & M3U Playlists

When you open IPTVX for the very first time, you are presented with an elegant, clean slate. Because the app does not supply channels, your first step is connecting your streaming subscription. In this guide, we walk through the exact steps to add your IPTV service to IPTVX using both Xtream Codes API and M3U playlist formats.

1. Adding Content to IPTVX

IPTVX supports multiple input protocols, allowing users to connect remote servers, local network files, and cloud-hosted playlists. For the vast majority of viewers, your provider will supply either an Xtream Codes login (Server, Port, Username, Password) or a direct M3U URL.

2. Method 1: Xtream Codes API (Recommended)

• Step 1: Open IPTVX and click the "+" button or "Add Playlist".
• Step 2: Choose "Xtream Codes API" from the list.
• Step 3: In the Name field, type a friendly name (e.g., "VIEWTV Living Room").
• Step 4: In the Server URL box, enter your server address and port (e.g., http://stream.server.net:8080). Do not append a trailing slash.
• Step 5: Enter your Username and Password exactly as provided in your activation message.
• Step 6: Click "Connect" or "Save". Wait 15 to 30 seconds for categories and EPG data to sync.

3. Method 2: M3U Playlist Link

If your provider only supplied an M3U link, select "M3U Playlist / URL". Paste your complete web address into the Playlist URL field. If you also have a separate XMLTV EPG URL, paste it into the secondary EPG URL field, then click "Add".

4. Verifying Stream & Guide Synchronization

Once your playlist is added, navigate to the "Live TV" tab in IPTVX. Select any channel to verify playback. Next, swipe over to the EPG Guide tab to ensure schedules and show descriptions are populating correctly.

5. Managing Multiple Playlists

IPTVX allows you to add multiple playlists—such as a backup sports playlist or a separate international bouquet—and toggle between them with one click under Settings > Playlists.
