In IPTVX, the EPG powers the interactive program grid, shows current show progress bars, displays episode descriptions, and enables Catch-up TV. Understand How IPTVX Processes EPG
IPTVX reads EPG data formatted in standard XMLTV syntax. Each channel in your playlist contains a unique `tvg-id`. When the EPG XML file contains matching program schedules for that `tvg-id`, IPTVX renders the program title, start time, end time, and synopsis.
Automatic Sync via Xtream Codes API
If you connected your VIEWTV IPTV subscription using the Xtream Codes API, your EPG URL is linked automatically! You do not need to type an XMLTV URL manually. The server delivers the schedule directly to IPTVX.
Adding a Custom XMLTV EPG to an M3U Playlist
If using an M3U playlist: Open IPTVX Settings > Playlists > Select your playlist > click "Edit" > navigate to "EPG URL". Paste your XMLTV URL (e.g., http://server.com:8080/xmltv.php) and click Save.
Adjust EPG Time Offset (Fix Misaligned Schedules)
If the TV guide shows programs starting one hour ahead or behind real time (due to daylight saving time or UTC differences), go to IPTVX Settings > EPG > "Time Offset". Select +1 hour, -1 hour, or your specific time differential to align schedules perfectly.
Force Manual EPG Reload
To fetch updated schedules immediately (such as during breaking sports schedule updates), go to IPTVX Settings > EPG > click "Reload EPG". IPTVX will re-download the XMLTV guide and refresh the timeline.

Adjust the EPG Time Offset in IPTVX Settings > EPG to +1, +2, -1, or -2 hours until current live shows match real-time broadcasting.
