IPTVX EPG Setup: How to Fix Missing TV Guide & Timezone Offsets

An Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is what elevates an IPTV player from an unorganized directory of streams into a true high-end television experience. In IPTVX, the EPG powers the interactive timeline grid, show descriptions, live progress bars, and catch-up TV. Here is how to configure and troubleshoot your EPG in IPTVX.

1. The Role of EPG in IPTVX

Without EPG data, channels only display station call-signs without indicating what is currently broadcasting. With an active XMLTV EPG feed, IPTVX renders up to 7 days of upcoming programming, enabling viewers to plan their sports and cinema viewing effortlessly.

2. How IPTVX Synchronizes EPG Data

If you connected via Xtream Codes API, your EPG updates automatically in the background. If using M3U, you link an XMLTV URL under playlist settings. IPTVX maps each channel’s unique `tvg-id` against XMLTV program entries.

3. Fixing Misaligned Schedules (Time Offset)

One of the most frequent EPG issues occurs when the TV guide shows current programs starting 1 or 2 hours early or late. This is caused by UTC differences or regional daylight saving shifts. IPTVX solves this with built-in time offset controls:

• Open IPTVX Settings > EPG.
• Select "Time Offset".
• Adjust by +1 hour, +2 hours, -1 hour, etc., until the active broadcast matches real-time clock hours.
• Restart IPTVX or reload the EPG to apply changes.

4. Fixing "No Information Available"

If your entire guide displays "No Information Available", check that your streaming device date and time are set to Automatic Network Time. If the device clock drifts by even 15 minutes, IPTVX cannot cross-reference current show timestamps.

5. Forcing a Manual EPG Reload

When sports schedules shift or breaking news preempts scheduled broadcasts, go to IPTVX Settings > EPG > click "Reload EPG" to download the freshest XMLTV feed immediately.
